We have been here 3 times for breakfast & it has been spot on. Try the cafe de olla it’s made with cinnamon & sugar. They serve it in a cute little clay mug. So cute. Tortillas are fresh & the salsas are good.

We like a restaurant that shows effort in presentation and interior design as well as good cooking and customer service. Arches and brick columns transport me virtually to anywhere in Mexico. The restaurant atmosphere seems to conduce to conversation while enjoying tasty food. I want to comment that after finding an error in our order, it was corrected promptly and in a friendly manner. Most definitely we will come back to try other items in the menu. It’s also attractive to see that there is some merchandise original from Mexico, and a variety of items that could be purchased here.

Best menudo in San Antonio. The best part is that we asked for bread instead of tortilla and they gave it to us. Menudo has pata de puerco which I don’t like but I didn’t mind because I just took it out. Everything is so good. And the waitresses are good.

I had a wonderful breakfast experience here! Even though there was a small hiccup, the staff more than made up for it. The waitresses were incredibly friendly, always smiling, and very courteous throughout our visit. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic Mexican cuisine. What really stood out was the personal touch: the owner came by and was extremely warm and welcoming. It’s clear they care about their customers and take pride in their service. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great, authentic Mexican food. I’ll definitely be back!

Moving to Old Town Helotes a few years ago was one of the best decisions we ever made such a great part of town! BUT we were unable to find a Mexican restaurant that we really enjoyed near our home. This place is still a 20 minute drive . . We've sampled so many places along Bandera, but this one? It's hands down our favorite! My wife loves their tortillas and breakfast And for me, their menudo and caldo de res are definitely one of my favorites in San Antonio Every single visit has been a delight, thanks to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff who always make us feel right at home. We've even had the sweetest surprise of bumping into distant family members here!
